Make an Impact Today
Why Give?Imagine leaving everything behind in a single night. No toothbrush. No change of clothes. No soap, no comb, nothing that feels like your own. Just the courage it took to walk out the door and the hope that tomorrow can be different.
For the women and families, we serve, this is not imagined. It is the first day of a new life.
Ethel's House of Refuge exists for that day, and for every day after it. We are dedicated to supporting families as they rebuild their lives after surviving domestic abuse and trauma. We provide essential hygiene products, clothing, and compassionate assistance to people who have found the courage to escape unsafe environments.
We believe every person deserves dignity, cleanliness, and the chance to start anew. Something as simple as a hot shower with their own soap, or a clean outfit that fits, tells a survivor: you matter, you are safe, and you are not alone. Our goal is that no one beginning their healing journey ever goes without the essentials they need.

Your donation goes directly to helping families rebuild their lives after surviving domestic abuse and trauma. Your gift helps us:
Provide hygiene essentials like soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, deodorant, and feminine care products, so survivors can feel clean and cared for from day one.
Supply clothing for women and children who often leave home with only what they're wearing, including outfits for job interviews as they work toward independence.
Offer compassionate assistance, from a welcoming presence to connections with other resources survivors need as they start over.
Keep our doors open by covering the basic costs of storing, organizing, and delivering donations to those in need.
Donated items go straight into the hands of survivors, and financial gifts let us buy what's needed most, when it's needed. Every gift, large or small, helps make sure no one begins their healing journey without the basics
